Billiards & Snooker Tournament – Members only

A Billiards and Snooker Tournament will be conducted during the months of November and & December 2007.

EVENTS:

1. Billiards:

a) Singles
The matches will be conducted on a Round Robin or Knock-Out basis, or a combination of both, which will be determined by the final number of entries received. The winners of all matches except for the Final will be the first to score 100 points. The Final will be the first to score 150 points.

2. English Snooker:

a) Singles
b) Doubles
The Matches will be conducted on a Round Robin or Knock-Out basis, or a combination of both, which will be determined by the final number of entries received. All matches except for the Finals will be on the basis of the best of three frames. The Finals for both Singles and Doubles will be on the basis of the best of five frames.

Rules & Regulations:

Entry fee – Rs 300 per participant per event.

Competitors are expected to make their own arrangements, if mutually desired, for the attendance of a referee of their choosing. Alternatively, competitors will be expected to mark their own scores. Please note – there will be no marker in attendance for billiards and snooker, except for the Finals.

In the event of any dispute, the decision of the Organising Committee shall be final.

Entries close on 14th November 2007. Entry forms will be available at the Dutch Burgher Union of Ceylon, 114, Reid Avenue, Colombo 4. Telephone: 2584511 & 5331661. All entries must be submitted along with full payment by cash or cheque. The draw will be conducted on 16th November 2007 at 7.30pm at the DBU and will be placed on the Notice Board on 17th November 2007. Games will commence on the 19th of November 2007 and proceed as scheduled. Participants may be present at the draw or call over on the 17th of November 2007 to ascertain the order of play. No other notice will be provided.
