Planning for centenary year celebrations underway

The DBU, which celebrates its centenary anniversary next year, is already making preparations to celebrate this significant milestone with a series of activities and events throughout 2008. While it is too early to reveal specific details, it is anticipated that the year-long celebrations will climax with a gala event to be held on Founder’s Day, which in the past six decades has been celebrated on 22nd October. The DBU was actually formed on 18 January 1908, but its major day of significance was changed to 22nd October in the 1950s, the day on which the Founder of the Union, R.G. Anthonisz, was born.

Undoubtedly, 18 January, 2008 will nevertheless feature quite importantly in the festivities next year and we hope to reveal more details in the not too distant future.
